Issue:The New York Times > National > In Schiavo Feeding-Tube Case, Notoriety Finds Unlikely Judge:

Specific:"People who know him say he considers himself a 'compassionate conservative,' a man whose religious faith is as dear to him as his reputation as a legal scholar."

Comment:This is a example for judges and justice. While I suspect he is Republican. The mindset that controls the Republican Party thinks this judge is wrong. As illustration - later in the article the the statement: "Now Mr. Bush and the Legislature are rushing to agree on a bill that would outlaw the withholding of food and water from certain people in a persistent vegetative state, including Mrs. Schiavo"

This is a abuse of power by the Republican party. But given the treatment of Tom Delay, my complaint is easily dismissed. As in the movie Gladiator, the characters talk of a "vision of Rome". Well, the "vision of America" is not what it used to be.
